Who is actually behind Folliq
A fair question, and one most brands in this category quietly avoid.

Folliq was founded in June 2026 by Sebastian Ciobanu (LinkedIn), and it is run by him. Not a team of thirty. Not a wellness collective. One person, based in the Netherlands, who answers the email address at the bottom of this page.
He is not a doctor, a dermatologist or a trichologist, and Folliq will never imply otherwise. What he brought to this was a habit of reading the actual papers instead of the marketing summaries of them — and a low tolerance for the way this industry talks to women over 45 about their hair.
Not to be confused with: Folliq is an independent brand with no affiliation to, endorsement by, or relationship with Follica, Follea, Foligain, Folli, Folexin or any similarly named company. Why the brand exists
Hair thinning at the part or the crown is one of the most commercially exploited problems in personal care. The pattern is always the same: a bold promise, a before-and-after with different lighting, a 30-day guarantee that expires before anything could reasonably have changed, and no mention anywhere of what the product does not do.
Folliq was built on the opposite bet — that a customer told the truth up front is worth more than one converted by a claim that will not survive her first month.
That is why our guarantee runs 90 days from delivery rather than 30. Light therapy for the scalp is studied over 16 to 26 weeks. A 30-day guarantee on a 16-week mechanism is not confidence, it is arithmetic.
What we sell, described accurately
Four products, meant to work as one routine.
The Red Light Scalp Massager is our flagship: 24 red LEDs at 660nm and 8 blue at 460nm, fed through 56 light-guide bristles that carry the light past the hair to the scalp itself. The mechanism — low-level light therapy — has published research behind it. That research studied other manufacturers' devices at 655nm, not ours, and we have not run a trial of our own. The Rosemary Serum and the Scalp Nourishing Oil are topicals built around rosemary, jojoba, argan, castor and peppermint. Rosemary is among the better-studied botanicals in this space, which is a lower bar than it sounds — our write-up of that research is honest about where the evidence thins out.
The Scalp Derma Roller improves absorption of whatever you apply after it. It is not a treatment on its own, and the research says as much.
None of these are medical devices. None are FDA-cleared. None are intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. What to expect, and when
Nothing in the first month. We would rather lose the sale than pretend otherwise.
What customers report, in order: less hair in the drain through weeks 1–4, fine new hairs visible at the part around weeks 5–8, and a denser part somewhere in weeks 9–12. Some people see none of it. Hair loss has many causes and a light device only addresses one of them — which is why our journal spends as much time on blood tests worth asking your doctor for as it does on our own products.
